Hello again. May has already passed more than half. Time moves quickly. Moving quickly in the last week of May…
Here’s the dividend income report of April 2017 for my kids’ portfolio!
In april the family enjoyed 2 weeks Easter vacation. I took one week vacation to spend quality time with the kids. We had three fun activities and you can find ONE OF the blog posts here :
- Visit to Comics Station in Antwerp
- Day trip to Efteling in the Netherlands
- Visit to Plankendael in Mechelen
We will post the others in the coming weeks. During the same vacation we also did our interesting and financial education game with the kids. This financial game took all afternoon and was a lot of fun ! If you have missed it, you can read it here !
Kids Financial Education Lesson 1 : Budg€t Fun
We can now prepare our next Financial Game (probably in August)
Now you can read our Dividend Income April 2017 Report Out
Dividends received in April 2017
During the month of April 2017, we received 129,01$ dividend income. The dividend payout was 20,82 $ from a monthly paying stock and 108,19$ from a quarterly paying ETF resulting in a new monthly RECORD. HURRAY ! Actually we had 3 record dividend payouts in all three portfolios. An amazing month I must admit.
Another good month and we keep on grinding further… building that cash flow in our portfolio.
Portfolio analysis and Growth
During the month of April, I made no changes to the portfolio.
We now have 294,20$ dividends received on a starting amount of 10.000 EURO AFTER JUST 4 MONTHS. Here we converted the previous month dividend income in Euro amount to $ amount. The 2017 goal for my kids’ portfolio is to generate 600$ in the total year which equals to an investment return of 6%. We have now 49% NET of on our bank account of the kids. We increased our cash position to 706,5 Dollar with the new dividend payouts.
Our portfolio shows a market value of 10.963 Euro. This excludes the dividends we have received.
CASH FLOW and Dividend Income, that is our only focus !
Going forward
Everything positive here….we don’t have any goals for our kids portfolio. Just watching our dividends coming into our bank account and building enough cash to make another investment. And that is all what counts and gives us pleasure !!

Great family fun. Planckendael is very often on our agenda. we have a subscription there. Lot’s of fun.
The comic station looks nice. I will check it out during my parental leave in the summer.
Agreed with the fact that kids need money lesson’s. Can’t start early enough.
Great update. Building up a passive income stream for your children is one of the best things you can do. Take advantage of their greatest asset, time.
